"In Greek mythology, Sirens have the appearance of beautiful women, but are half bird. They sing, and their song is so compelling that men are irresistibly drawn towards them. Sirens continued to be used as a symbol for the dangerous temptation embodied by women regularly throughout Christian art of the medieval era. The crucifixes are early seventeenth century reliquaries. It is said that peacock feathers can protect you from surrounding evil spirits. They also represent divine femininity, an abundance of wealth and are used in rituals for prosperity! "Siren" can also be used as a slang term for a woman considered both very attractive but dangerous" - Louise.
