Mina Ricci

Mina Ricci’s mixed media artworks take inspiration from her own life experiences and surroundings, in celebration of the natural world we are immersed in everyday. Her unique approach is evident in her choice of using textured aluminium as her canvas, showcasing her lifelong fascination with flora and fauna. Taking in the smallest of details, she is captivated by butterflies and insects, with their bold colours and intricate patterns, making a frequent appearance in her nature scenes. Elevating her practise Ricci blends organic materials with industrial metal backdrops, reinforcing the allure of the outdoors while adding a subtle contrast of the manmade and ethereal worlds. Her Original textural mixed media pieces seem to glow, hinting at the ephemeral beauty of a delicate butterfly or flower in full bloom. Though Ricci briefly studied design while in Rome, her landscapes and creatures evoke the enduring connection she harbours with nature’s splendour. With an admiring eye, she translates her passion into mixed media odes rich in colour and life.
