Tom Hesse

A contemporary mixed-media artist from Amsterdam, Hesse explores the bold and unconventional with his abstract installations. Having studied Fine Art for a time before taking a step away from academics to explore his own personal expression, his work showcases the duality of learned and self-taught skills. Finding inspiration from the capital’s rich artistic heritage, the legacy of the Museum District’s modern art at the Stedelijk and the unique and vibrant nightlife the city is beloved for, Hesse has a distinctive flair, capturing his love of diversity and bold expression. First conceptualising his ideas using digital mediums, Hesse then pushes the boundaries of his pieces with a variety of materials and hand embellishments to create a distinctive and raw effect.
